London – Food designer Jacopo Sarzi and design platform DesignMarketo collaborated on the Ice Sculpting and Cocktails workshop last month in which the designer used ice sculptures to enliven the cocktail-making experience.
The three stages of making a cocktail – putting ice in the glass, adding the liquor and finishing with a garnish – were re-interpreted through ice sculpture. Participants were shown how to chisel ice, drip juices through drilled holes in ice blocks, and freeze caramel lollipops as garnishes and edible stirrers.
The event was part of design magazine Disegno’s Design Picnic series, which brings together food and design.
Through food, Sarzi encourages people to collaborate and use all their senses to create new experiences. To find out more about the prolific designer and how he may be useful to your brand, read our Portfolio profile.
