Mumbai – The White Owl, a new hybrid nightlife venue featuring a bar, bistro and on-site microbrewery with warehouse aesthetics, has opened in Mumbai.
Situated in the lobby of luxury office tower One Indiabulls Center, this late-night haunt was conceived by former New York resident Javed Murad as an easy space where ‘garage meets living room, factory meets kitchen, and old work objects, iconic of Bombay in the 1950s, come together in unexpected ways’.
Interior lighting from design studio Obataimu offers luminous intrigue in the form of yellow bar tops and bare light bulbs. Bicycles adorn the exposed brick walls, while behind the bar quirky rum or whisky cocktails are placed next to seasonal small dishes such as lamb sliders, mango cheesecake, or chèvre and cranberry salad.
The signature feature of The White Owl’s 2,500-square feet space is a microbrewery, set behind glass walls, that enables customers to view the industrial brewing process. The bar will serve home-made craft lagers, pilsners, stouts and cider.
