An Italian romance: Love peaks in surreal film

Barcelona – Award-winning directors collective Canada, 55DSL and Vice have produced a short film to accompany the 55DSL autumn/winter 2012 collection, which is worn by the characters in the film.

The 10-minute film, called Beyond Mountains, More Mountains, plays on Italian clichés to create a romantic tale of love, fun and freedom, using flashbacks and disordered clips to introduce surreal overtones of memories and dreams.

Shot against the striking landscapes of white Carrera marble quarries and the black volcanic beaches of Stromboli, this road trip mini-movie brings the signature youthful styling of 55DSL to life, making the love story empathetic, accessible and relevant to the brand’s customers. It shows how storytelling can add meaning and emotional connection to a brand.
