London – Design collective Field Guide is presenting some of its most innovative work at the London Design Festival in A Spotter’s Guide to the Post-Digital World exhibition.
A series of interactive installations enables visitors to explore new ways of experiencing different media. The exhibits are set against a Netstalgic 90s backdrop featuring hash-tag and extra large emoticon symbols printed onto black walls.
Three installations use conductive ink to connect paper to the internet. The ink transmits a digital code from newspapers or postcards to speakers or headphones, providing a more synaesthetic reading, holding and listening experience.
Field Guide explores the relationship between design, technology and society. Members use design research to speculate on what a physical-digital society surrounded by the Internet of Things might be like.
