Digital quest: Hunt is on for hidden album tracks

International – Some musicians will go to extraordinary lengths to ensure that their songs are not leaked online prematurely. But others are embracing the inevitable by letting fans listen to their album online for free.

New York-based band Yeasayer is giving fans the opportunity to listen to its next album Fragrant World online. But first fans need to find the songs by participating in a digital scavenger hunt.

Fans of Yeasayer can visit the band’s official Twitter page to find clues that lead them to each of the 11 tracks’ hidden locations.

This is a great example of a brand using social media to engage with fans. By participating in the scavenger hunt, fans will feel a greater affinity with the music.
