In step: Designer gets off on the right foot

28 : 03 : 2011 Weimar : Germany : Jennifer Rieker

Weimar, Germany – Product designer Jennifer Rieker is encouraging consumers to talk to their local craftsmen through her modular shoe concept, Creo Shoe.

When customers order the shoes online, the components are sent in a leather envelope that becomes the shoe. It contains adaptable rubber shoes, a pair of soles and a pair of shoelaces. A notebook with information about the materials and the origin of the components is also provided. But to complete the shoe, the customer has to give the envelope to a local shoemaker to make the inner shoe, and then he or she can assemble it.
