Bags of fun: Longchamp pulls in Facebook fans

01.12.2010 Longchamp : Facebook : Paris

London – French luxury luggage label Longchamp has joined forces with social networking site Facebook to launch an application enabling ‘fans’ of the Parisian brand to design their own bags under the popular Le Pliage line.

Le Pliage boasts a history of high-profile collaborations with designers, including Jeremy Scott, Charles Anastase and Desiree Heiss. Now Facebook users can create their own version of the iconic foldable bags without leaving the social networking site.

Each bag is customised in four simple steps, producing a unique creation that users can easily post to their profiles and share with friends.

As LSN global highlights in our Generation D report, this is a good example of brands embracing the social networking phenomenon and actively talking to their consumers.
