London – When creative collective TEN showed its designs at London Design Festival, it also gave people instructions on how to make the products themselves. As part of the 100% Design show at Earl’s Court last week, the TEN PLAN exhibition featured 10 designs by 10 designers, with each built using reclaimed materials.
Designs included Héctor Serrano’s Mr Cube, a wooden cube made of several parts that can be shaped into a model of a person. Sam Johnson showed toys made from Ikea products that children can ride on. And Nina Tolstrup exhibited a micro-sized wooden kitchen for outdoor entertaining called Mobile Outdoor Kitchen.
Visitors could take away instruction manuals that explained how to source the materials used in each product, and how to make it themselves at home.
LS:N Global will report on all the key trends, new designers and exhibitions from London Design Festival next week.
