London – A new installation for this year’s London Design Festival will see members of the public take control of eight industrial robots, which are on loan from Audi’s production line.
The Outrace project by design duo Clemens Weisshaar and Reed Kram will transform London’s Trafalgar Square into a ‘mechanical octopus’, according to the designers.
Visitors to the square and a global web audience can book a slot to interact with the installation online. Users will be able to trace light messages into the air in real time, which will be recorded and uploaded to the web via HD cameras.
