Up Periscope: Foam tower rises to the challenge

New York – An award-winning tower in Atlanta is made of foam.

Matter Design Studio created the Periscope Tower, which was built in six hours. The tower was the winning entry in the 10UP National Architecture Competition, which asked designers to create a temporary installation that could be built in 24 hours in a space measuring 10ft x 10ft for less than $5,000.

The main advantages of the structure are that it is cheap to make and lightweight. It is also 100% recyclable.
