New York – Dutch design group United Nude has developed software to scan objects into a 3D computer model and then to create simplified versions.
The Lo Res project has designed a range of objects including a black 3D model of a Lamborghini Countach, a Verner Panton chair, the Statue of Liberty and a high-heeled shoe.
‘Take any item and tell the computer to generate different versions, by changing a very high-resolution file to a lower resolution,’ explains the company’s creative director, Rem D Koolhaas.
