New York – The Ensign is a new e-commerce platform dedicated to American menswear designers.
It was launched after founders Luis Morales and Jason Wagg identified a gap in the market for a luxury retail destination that featured only made-in-America fashion.
Now selling the work of nine designers, they want the site to establish a sustainable eco-system that supports emerging US designers, encourages domestic manufacturing and provides a platform for fashion enthusiasts.
‘Our platform was always intended to be a larger discussion on the current and future state of American fashion and its role in contemporary culture,’ Morales tells LS:N Global.
Keen to identify the larger narratives in American fashion, Morales explains how he wants the site to ‘speak to the current state of modern American identity, the influence of global culture within this creative industry, and how domestic manufacturing can unite these themes in a longstanding and sustainable manner’.
