09 : 02 : 2017 LabNosh : Neo-nutrition : South Korean

South Korea – LabNosh presents a new visual language around meal replacement products.

  • There are five base flavours: granola yoghurt, green cereal, chocolate, uva milk tea and sweet potato
  • Each meal replacement has been created in accordance with the Korean Nutrition Society’s guidelines

LabNosh’s compact bottles are aimed at Millennial females who are ‘too busy to have proper meals but still interested in health and diet’. Each portion equates to one meal and is specifically tailored to aid digestion of the typical Korean diet, with minimal sodium content to counteract the high salt content of foods such as stew, pickled fish, ramen and kimchi.

Chewable toppings are provided to re-create the sensation of consuming a meal rather than drinking a liquid. Booster sachets are also available to meet individual dietary requirements, such as Creatine Alpha for enhanced performance results during training.

While other brands have typically employed a neutral palette to approach the concept of meal replacements, LabNosh offers a new bold approach that focuses on simple shapes and bright colours to create an aesthetic that celebrates the synthetic nature of the product.

The Big Picture

Nutrition brands are looking to stand out by using eye-catching design that draws attention to the artificial nature of the product rather than shying away from it. For more, see our Neo-Nutrition design direction.
