Healthy tipples

26 : 01 : 2016 First Aid Box : Herne Hill : Cocktails

London – Herne Hill-based café and cocktail bar First Aid Box serves drinks that won’t go against doctor’s orders.

  • The cocktail recipes follow modern trends in healthy eating, including quinoa and orange honey
  • Drinks are served both classically and in drip bags, or need to be mixed using pipettes and syringes

Cafe-come-bar First Aid Box is one of a growing number of establishments embracing a grown-up attitude to drinking, first profiled in our Food and Drink Futures Report 2015.

Serving coffee, Jing tea and fresh juices during the day, First Aid Box fires up the bar in the early evening to offer a range of nutritious yet alcoholic cocktails.

Recipes from founders Chris Edwards and Dave Tregenza, who also own and operate Brixton’s The Shrub and Shutter, include a matcha and pistachio gin cocktail and a blueberry and quinoa vodka cocktail served with yoghurt powder.

The Big Picture

Healthy hedonism is on the rise as consumers seek to have a good time without avoiding alcohol altogether. Find out more about new alcohol offers in our Alco-health microtrend.
