Bristol – The Rooms festival invited visitors to explore alternate technological futures in a series of interactive installations, workshops and film screenings.
The Rooms festival, held over three days in Bristol’s Old Fire Station, Magistrates’ court and police station, was created by REACT, a collaboration between five universities and businesses to support the creative economy.
Exploring notions of serendipity and surprise, visitors could discover the works without the need for detailed instruction. ‘We had maps and signage but it was fairly subtle. It was more about equipping people so they felt confident in going off and getting lost to discover the works for themselves,’ Jo Lansdowne, managing producer at REACT, tells LS:N Global.
