Peaceful pharmacy

09 : 10 : 2015 Pharmacie Uniprix : Pharmacy : Feng Shui

Montreal – Pharmacie Uniprix is the yin to the often uninspiring world of the pharmacy’s yang.

  • Pharmacies are often places that customers want to escape from as soon as they have what they came for
  • Pharmacie Uniprix could not be more different from the white, sterile and uninspiring spaces that consumers are used to

Designed with the store’s feng shui in mind, the centre of the pharmacy uses waist-high customised furniture from Héritage to optimise the flow of energy, and offers customers an unencumbered view across its pastel-coloured shop floor.

The north side, home to a private screening room and prescriptions counter, uses a soothing blue and yellow colour scheme, illuminated by the soft light from floor-to-ceiling windows.

‘The reason is that we consciously wanted to dissociate the mercantile aspect of the professional act of the pharmacist. Listening, professionalism and human warmth prevail over product,’ explain the designers Jean de Lessard.
