Photo palettes: Using the visual environment for customised footwear

19.10.2008 Trainers : Colour : Customise

A new concept from Nike iD allows individuals to customise sneakers, using colours from photos they have taken on their mobile – a great tool for today’s Slash/Slash kid. Once a photo is uploaded to Nike iD, a response is sent with a link to the Nike Photo iD website where the customer can view the design of their customised footwear. This creates a world of possibilities where consumers can translate their everyday inspirations into commercial products. If you like the colour palette of a bar, hotel, shop or any location around you, take a photo. You could soon be able to replicate the colours for yourself with an interiors company – Pantone photo palettes might not be far off.
