Knock on wood: Designers head back to nature in Milan

Milan – A group of designers that went back to nature in the hope of finding creative stimulation, have showcased the end results at Milan Design Week.

LS:N Global reported earlier this year that the event Bodging Milano hosted by Designersblock took place in the deepest woods of Herefordshire in an outdoor workshop, away from drawing boards, computer screens and mechanised equipment.

The handcrafted wood furniture pieces that were created include benches and chairs by furniture designers such as Gitta Gschwendtner and Dave Green.

Artisan brands are increasingly celebrating their craft, and are communicating the stories behind their goods, as explored in our Luxury Insight report.
