Los Angeles – Niche fragrance brand Commodity has rolled out a set of mix bars in 35 Sephora locations in a bid to encourage customers to whip up their own fragrance cocktails.
Rain and Moss, for example, can be mixed together to create Morning Fog, while Whiskey and Mimosa scents can be blended to create an Old Fashioned.
‘Commodity worked with Sephora to bring our Try At Home Fitting Kit experience into the retail environment, giving their guests our unique interactive experience of creating scent cocktails,’ Ash Huzenlaub, CEO of Commodity Goods, tells LS:N Global. ‘Guests can visit selected Sephora stores and read about how our fragrances are great stand-alone or when mixed together to create their own unique experience.’
The Big Picture: Customers are increasingly layering several products in a trend known as Cosmetics Cocktailing, and brands are rethinking formulas and products to appeal to a generation who expect customisation as a given.
