Spirit of cooperation: Givenchy perfumes inspire artisanal cocktails

05 : 02 : 2015 Hotel Cafe Royal : Parfums Givenchy : Sensory Splurge

London – Hotel Café Royal is collaborating with Parfums Givenchy to serve cocktails in honour of the fashion house’s L’Atelier de Givenchy fragrance collection.

Guests can sip the scent-inspired drinks at the venue’s Green Bar, which is branded around its absinthe offering in reference to Café Royal’s reputation as a Belle Époque watering hole. The Paris-inspired identity continues with this new-season collaboration that fits the characters of both brands as contemporary bohemian with historic gravitas.

In keeping with fashion’s seasonal spirit, the scent-based cocktails will be served for only two months until late March. The artisanal nature of a couturier such as Givenchy is echoed in Café Royal’s description of the new drink series as having come ‘from the fashion studios to the perfumers’ lab to the mixologist’s bar – from exquisite fabrics to precious ingredients’. The drinks have names such as Néroli Originel, Chypre Caresse and Ambre Tigré.

The idea is reminiscent of the Fragrances bar at the Ritz-Carlton, Berlin, another chic hotel cocktail bar that collaborates with perfumiers to serve drinks that merge flavour and fragrance.
