Los Angeles – The Springs, a new restaurant, yoga and wellness centre, has opened in Downtown Los Angeles.
The opening of The Springs is not a complete surprise. In 2013, LS:N Global reported on the Body Temples macrotrend in which Western consumers are putting their health and wellbeing at the forefront of their lives. And, arguably, nowhere does this better than Los Angeles – home to the health-obsessed and dedicated followers of fitness fads.
The Springs, which is described on its website as the ‘eco-vegan-mind-body-one-stop-shop’, seems ideally suited to the city. The 13,500-square-feet space offers yoga classes, spa and wellness treatments, a raw vegan restaurant, and a juice bar and a wine bar.
Although a strong indication that the demand for a healthy approach to life is here to stay, The Springs’ location is also a sign of the continuing gentrification of the Downtown neighbourhood, which has enjoyed a revival in recent years with the opening of hip hotels such as Ace and The Line.
