Boys only: Luxury retail space merges art and retail for men

19 : 08 : 2014 Luxury Retail : Men's Retail : Los Angeles

Los Angeles – Please Do No Enter has landed in downtown Los Angeles (DTLA), offering the luxury-minded man a place in which to indulge in progressive retail and art.

French founders and art collectors Nicolas Libert and Emmanuel Renoird were inspired by the renaissance of DTLA, which is bringing together disparate creative disciplines in a unique Californian hybrid. Please Do Not Enter is neither a traditional shop nor an art gallery, but a creative clubhouse for men housed high above the crowds on the 12th floor of a Beaux-Arts building.

Without a traditional store front, Please Do Not Enter maintains the feeling of a private collection that is an extension of the creators themselves. They present an impeccably curated collection of wares and objects for the sophisticated male consumer displayed in such a way that it is difficult to distinguish between art and retail. Items on show come from some of the most prolific names in contemporary design, and range from fashion, sculpture and stationery to toys and apothecary products.

Visits are by appointment only and the founding duo are happy to share the stories behind their goods, turning the experience into more of an intimate discussion between friends that is much more in line with the male shopping sensibility.
