Berlin – Built in a 19th-century apartment building, Gorki Apartments are apartments but without the fuss of a lease. These short-stay rooms look like hotel suites, but are available for as long as visitors wish and, unlike traditional ‘aparthotels’, they look good.
Gorki Apartments are located in the fashionable Mitte area of Berlin, and provide the amenities of a hotel and of home in one well-designed package. Like a hotel concierge, reception is there to provide help with your social life, whether it be booking tickets or ordering flowers, and it offers extra services including bicycle hire and laundry.
Gorki Apartments are ‘discreet, but personal’, claims the website, ‘a one-night stand and [a] second home’.
As we witnessed with Hoxton Hotel’s new business meeting rooms, which it called The Apartment, hotel brands are increasingly trying to conjure up the comforts of home for weary travellers.
