New York – Take Root is located on a residential street in Carroll Gardens in Brooklyn. It is one-part yoga studio, one-part foodie experience, with a market-driven restaurant offering seasonal five-course tasting menus three nights a week.
The brainchild of yogi Anna Hieronimus and her fiancé, chef Elise Kornack, Take Root is a hybrid space that focuses on the nourishment of the mind, body and soul. Yoga classes run during the day, with a specialism in children’s yoga, and in the evening Kornack serves tasting menus to a maximum of 12 people at a time. The restaurant’s intimate nature enables the chef – whose CV includes time at The Spotted Pig – to present the meal to diners, explaining the food’s provenance and inspiration.
