Milan – The Ecooking Vertical Kitchen, designed by Massimo Facchinetti, offers a compact and sustainable cooking experience.
In these turbulent times, the nuclear family is being replaced by multi-generational and single households that need compact and sustainable homes, as we reported in our Future Family macrotrend.
The Ecooking Vertical Kitchen consists of a column-like structure that contains a fridge, dishwasher, oven, induction oven, sink, seating for six people, an espresso machine and a small wall garden for herbs, making it ideal for small spaces.
Solar panels supply the kitchen with power, while water is filtered and recycled from the sink to the dishwasher and used to water the herbs. The hood purifies the air using titanium dioxide, making the facility sustainable and eco-friendly.
The unit was exhibited at this year’s Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, and is expected to go on sale from 2014.
