Tokyo – Norwegian designer Kristine Five Melvaer exhibited objects from her Still Life project at Food Work, an exhibition at Designtide Tokyo 2012 showcasing Norwegian design.
The Liquid Light piece from the collection stands out. It is a plate made of birch wood that holds a glass carafe and a socket for a candle. The glass orb works as a lens to increase and spread the light from the flame, turning it into a lamp.
The Liquid Light creates a soft aesthetic and retains a functionality that would suit members of the Future Family. For more on this design direction, read our Minimal Harmony micro Inspire report.
