Milan – Italian design duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana introduced hand-crafted techniques normally associated with furniture design for their spring/summer collection during Milan Fashion Week.
Dolce & Gabbana’s Sicilian-inspired collection features corsets and crinolines constructed from canes bent by hand, reviving the traditional Sicilian coffa basket with models proudly wearing the artisan pieces as outerwear garments.

The brand’s innovative use of craft production methods is reminiscent of LS:N Global’s Revivalism macrotrend in which we discuss Reviv-ovation.
