Stockholm – Absolut Vodka has launched an initiative that takes limited-edition bottles to the Nth degree. In its Absolut Unique project, the vodka brand plans to distribute 4m bottles into stores globally, each featuring a unique design.
Rather than outsourcing the designs to artist and designer collaborators, Absolut has taken the production back in-house, which demanded that the vodka brand re-engineer its production plant.
Paint splash guns and colour-generating machines use algorithms to ensure that no two bottles are alike. This is a great example of a brand using a different design every time, a trend that is explained in our Netstalgia macrotrend.
