London – The SUDA Thai Café Restaurant is hosting the Thai Food Surreal exhibition, featuring works by Thai artists Dhanyapat Sajjalaksana and Flat 6 Studio, to celebrate Thai food through sensory experience.
Artist collective Flat 6 Studio has created a selection of ice-creams that decode the ingredients in traditional Thai dishes from the SUDA menu. Each flavour is described on the menu using a surreal illustration rather than text.
After creating dyes using the colours from SUDA’s kitchen food waste, Sajjalaksana presented a selection of fabrics that took on both the colour and the smell of the Thai dishes.
This exhibition demonstrates consumers’ increasing demand for food experiences that call on the imagination through all of the senses. To find out more about future food trends, read our Food Futures report.
