London – Designer Andy Martin has created a grid-like, angular table that lets its owners change its colour.
Made from transparent, clear acrylic plastic provided by Venetian plastics company PPP, the 250cm by 90cm Gridspace table contains 1,200 plugs for the owners to input their colour of choice. Options include solid black, gold, copper and translucent yellow, which highlights the table’s original material.
‘With this design, which is based on a PPP system developed in the 60s, everything can be bespoke,’ Martin tells LS:N Global. ‘I want people to play around with it.’
The flexibility of this design will appeal to the Future Family, who will prefer interiors that can be adapted to each member’s different needs and moods.

LS:N Global will be reporting live from the Milan furniture fair.
