US – A new range of adapter bricks called the Free Universal Constructor Kit is enabling children to hack and adapt Lego, Krinkles, Duplo and other assembly toys to fit one another.
The kit, developed by creative fabrication companies FAT Lab and Sy-Lab, is not a set of physical models already assembled, but available for download from Thingiverse, the site that provides files for 3D printing.
This is an excellent example of Hacktivism as the kit teaches young consumers to defy the conventions of established designs.
