Flimby – To mark its 30th anniversary British sports shoe brand New Balance has launched a website to celebrate the Cumbrian town of Flimby, where the company is based, in the style of a local tourist guide.
Visit Flimby focuses on the firm’s commitment to domestic manufacturing in the UK and tells the stories of several local New Balance craftsmen and their passions through documentary-style interviews. Subjects include Wayne McLuckie, a pigeon-racing aficionado, and production team member and rock musician Mark Heron.
Managing director Europe, Middle East and Africa Jonathan Ram says the website is a ‘way of highlighting the New Balance ‘footprint’ on the town and demonstrating our commitment to local jobs and British business’.
