Paris – Josephus Thimister’s show at Paris fashion week mixed hard and soft elements, with an overall mood of mediaeval austerity.
The sombre outfits, featuring natural-looking, distressed fabrics such as fraying gauze and loose knits, were belted with artisanal crafted leather corsets. The collection revived a sober style from the past, with sack-like full-length skirts and flowing harem trousers.
LS:N Global believes the use of rustic materials and revived techniques throughout the design industries will continue to reassure consumers during the turbulent economic times ahead.
