London – British design company Hat-Trick has created packaging for an animal-themed party pack for children aimed at promoting healthy eating.
Commissioned by the British Heart Foundation, the project enlisted the help of recipe writer Lizzie Harris and writer Nick Asbury to create 17 healthy party food ideas with an animal theme, and fun names for the dishes.
Party foods include the Cluck Cluck Club sandwich and a lion made out of tortilla chips called Safari Snacks.
‘Children’s health is such an important topic. It’s great that design can make a difference to getting the message across,’ says Jim Sutherland, director of Hat-Trick. ‘We had a lot of fun putting it together, and I hope this comes across to the children. Play often leads to the best, most engaging solutions.’
It is hoped that the fun packaging will lead children to engage with healthier ingredients. For more about the possible impact of packaging, read our Packaging Market Report, available from The Future Laboratory’s online shop.
