San Francisco – Digital payments company Square has launched a new iPad app called Square Register that lets people and merchants use their iPads as card sales points. The move follows the success of Square’s mobile app that enables people to make card transactions with their smartphones.
An enticing feature of the new app is Square Card Case, which lets customers save their credit card information and create separate tabs for each retailer on the system. The customer simply gives his or her name to the retailer, and any purchase is added to the tab.
As payment methods become increasingly seamless, LS:N Global expects the easiest to become the most successful. For more examples of mobile payments in e-commerce, read our Technology Futures report.
