Jerusalem – The Industrial Design department of the Bezalel Academy of Arts & Design will explore unconventional design in the Ventura Lambrate Collective Space during Milan Design Week in April.
The Thinking Hands show will present 45 works from 37 undergraduate and postgraduate students. These include new ways of sourcing and manufacturing materials, such as Solskin Peels – tableware made from citrus peel using microwave technology, by Ori Sonnenschein – and the RAWtation, a table that fuses plastic rotation moulding with organic raw materials, by Adi Zaffran Weisler.
In The Transformation Age, which LS:N Global explores in our Spring Trend Briefing, designers are increasingly inventing new, anarchic ways of manufacturing materials, influenced by the revival of old techniques.
