US/UK – New restaurants, food events and delivery services are feeding parents and their children while respecting their individual identities.

  • High-end restaurants are hosting lunch events that are open to parents and their young children
  • Au Fudge in Los Angeles is designed to appeal to kids, parents, gourmands and aesthetes

Becoming a mother doesn’t mean that your food preferences change, but it is often difficult to find places to eat that both suit mother and child. While ‘baby-and-me’ services have made cinema-going sessions easier, family-friendly food establishments often carry the same, uninspiring aesthetic and offer.

But a new wave of restaurants and services are emerging that cater for parents and their children as individuals. Los Angeles’ Au Fudge is a members’ club-style restaurant that has an all-organic menu for parents and a ‘creative space’ for children that is monitored by a team of au pairs.

Nibble+Squeak is a service in New York and London that books out restaurants at quieter times for groups of parents and their children, enabling the kids to be kids while the adults enjoy a high-end dining experience.
