New York – DELQA is an installation that invites the audience to venture inside the music of producer Matthew Dear.
The canyon-like structure, inspired by the tensile architecture of Frei Otto and Aleksandra Kasuba, evokes a rolling mountainous landscape that visitors can investigate.
Using Microsoft’s Kinect technology, the movements of guests as they push, crawl and climb their way through the installation will uncover new arrangements of sounds filled with rhythmic complexities such as pitch, range and synthesis.
Created by a collaborative of designers, developers, musicians and animators, DELQA enables visitors to physically explore the musical landscape, using texture, light and audio to create an engaging interactive experience.
