California – The Digital Detox retreat is giving adults a chance to unplug from the digital world and reconnect with their childhood at Camp Grounded this summer.
Consumers are increasingly turning towards the sublime, quiet and intuitive instead of brash concepts, and embracing digital downtime in a bid to escape from the stresses of everyday life, as we reported in our The New Sublimity macrotrend.
Camp Grounded offers adults a weekend away in 80 acres of stunning redwoods in Anderson Valley. Guests will be asked to give up their laptops, mobiles, social media, clocks and work emails for a weekend of camping fun.
Activities include yoga, stargazing, hiking, creative writing workshops, truth or dare, rock-wall climbing and roasting marshmallows. To relive their childhood camping memories, guests will sleep in open-air cabins, bunk beds or their own tents, will be encouraged to sneak out at night and will be served favourite childhood dishes in the canteen.
Camp Grounded will take place on 14–17 June 2013.
