London – Inspired by sci-fi films such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, food impresarios Sam Bompas and Harry Parr created an extravaganza about the future of food and drink last night.
LS:N Global’s highlight of the event, entitled A Culinary Odyssey, was The Nourishment cocktail made by The Experimental Cocktail Club and served by the Tropism Well by Poietic Studio.
Many of the foods on offer, such as the insect pasta and the smoked bourbon whiskey ice cream, were made with a mixer from KitchenAid, which sponsored the event.
Is this really what food will be like in the future? ‘This isn’t directly about making the future,’ Bompas tells LS:N Global, ‘but about starting conversations that can shape the future.’
Those attending the evening also received a brief report on the future of food by LS:N Global. A longer version of this will run next week on LS:N Global. To find out more about the food trends of the near future, buy our Food Futures report.
