World-beater: Wealthy Travel & Hospitalitylers inspire Sahin

Milan – Trussardi designer Umit Benan Sahin unveiled a second collection for the fashion house this week for autumn/winter 2012/2013. This season his inspiration was explorers and citizens of the world travelling far and wide to visit local bazaars and markets.

Milan – Trussardi designer Umit Benan Sahin unveiled a second collection for the fashion house this week for autumn/winter 2012/2013. This season his inspiration was explorers and citizens of the world travelling far and wide to visit local bazaars and markets.

The new look had a grand-tour feel, featuring lightweight, cream pinstripe three-piece women’s suits worn over Edwardian lace-up boots, cinched pale grey blazers worn over tonal blouses, and flowing skirts and Navajo felt hats worn over luxury knits and skirts. Elsewhere women wore cinched money belts and carried large luxurious looking rucksacks.

The collection is the latest example of how luxury houses are adapting to the increasingly global lifestyles of wealthy consumers with travel-focused product. Aesthetically, it also followed on from spring/summer 2012 collections, which celebrated eclectic pairings of world-cultural references – a nod to the growth of luxury travel trends embracing adventure and new unique experiences, over ‘fly and flop’ holidays, as covered in LS:N Global’s International Luxury Travel Market report.
