Knit picking: Pringle pop-up wows Design Miami/

Miami Beach – Among the brands winning applause for artistic collaborations during Art Basel/Design Miami/ was Pringle, the Scottish knitwear manufacturer, which invited British artist Liam Gillick to create a capsule collection of knitwear and accessories.

Gillick’s take on Pringle was refreshing and bold, featuring strong colours and edgy geometry reminiscent of LS:N Global’s Fun and Functionality design direction. Continuing the visual theme, Pringle’s Design District pop-up store was a success thanks not only to Gillick’s efforts, which were strikingly presented, but with the addition of a book corner, supported by publisher Steidl Books and curated by Bice Curiger.

The Pringle Archive was also part of the presentation, a project with the fashion department of St Martins College of Art and Design, while a Gillick installation occupied the second floor gallery space of the building.
