San Francisco – Designer Stren Pipkin has created a concept called Cambium that enables DIY enthusiasts and workmen in inner city areas to access tools and industrial machinery for a monthly fee.
After enrolling in the programme, members receive a canvas-covered box with a four-piece set of fine rosewood and brass tools, an apron and some safety goggles.
The concept uses a 1940s muted colour scheme and is aimed at 50–60-year-old male woodworkers.
