Los Angeles – Beauty brand Further has created a range of products from vegetable oil left over from some of Los Angeles’s finest restaurants, such as Mario Batali.
The oil was purified and made into soap, lotion and candles. Design agency Aesthetic Movement developed appropriate packaging of metal tins with brown labels, reminiscent of how restaurants store vegetable oil.
Brands are increasingly reusing waste. For another example read about Gilpin Family Whisky, made from the excess sugar found in urine samples of diabetics, in our Anarconomy Decade report.
