Rurban revolution: Experts discuss future of city life at LS:N Global event

#2628 / 0

London – Brand planners and strategists gathered at the Super Natural exhibition by Studio Toogood in Brompton last night for the latest LS:N Global network evening.

The topic was the Rurban Revolution, the trend for city dwellers getting in touch with the countryside, and a key topic in the forthcoming LS:N Global Trend Briefing. Expert speakers discussed the Rurban Revolution with guests including representatives from brands such as Nokia, All Saints, BMW, Boots and Marks & Spencer.

Faye Toogood of Studio Toogood talked about the inspirations behind the exhibition. ‘I want to bring back the feeling I have in the countryside to the city,’ she said. Francesca Sarti from the Arabeschi di Latte architectural studio demonstrated the Coppa dell’Amicizia, a convivial tea-cup with six spouts for six people to drink from. Kieren Jones talked about his personal micro-factory, which he built as part of his Community Commerce project. Patricia Michelson from food and wine store La Fromagerie discussed the importance of place, terroir and provenance. And Laurent-Perrier’s Alan Strang held a mini Champagne-tasting session as guests moved round the space.

After the event, guests walked round the Super Natural exhibition, took in the sights and smells of the mushroom installation by forager Mrs Tee, and took a piece of country living back home with them.

LS:N Global will cover the Rurban network event in depth in our Insight Markets section soon. Kieren Jones’s Community Commerce project is explored further in our Innovate section. Faye Toogood is interviewed in our Inform section, and the Arabeschi di Latte architectural studio is featured in our Portfolio section.
