Singapore – The store offers a variety of cleaning services to suit customers’ shoe care needs.

Among the services on offer are The Holy Basic Clean package, which comprises a dry clean that focuses on the exterior of customers’ sneakers, and The Holy Detail package, which provides a deep clean of the whole shoe and adds a special protective coating. The company also offers services beyond cleaning including sneaker restoration and paint removal, and a host of customisation options.

‘The sneaker subculture has gone global,’ says Karen Heng, manager at Holystic. ‘However, not many people know the proper way to clean their sneakers. Some use toothpaste, vinegar or laundry detergent, which may damage their sneakers.’

Holystic runs a series of workshops that aim to educate consumers about how to care for their sneakers, which cover basic cleaning, basic restoration and advanced restoration, respectively.

The Big Picture

  • Fuelled by the rise of sneaker culture, services such as Holystic and Dream Downtown’s Sneaker Concierge are positioning the sneaker as a coveted luxury item
