Frankfurt – Libertine Lindenberg is a new hotel concept aimed at long-term guests who crave communal living experiences.
The hotel is marketed as ‘a guest community with the service options of a hotel’ for travellers interested in ‘shareconomy projects’. Libertine Lindenberg is built around a series of unusual public spaces, such as a communal kitchen, a recording studio and a bodega-style shop, as well as more standard facilities such as a gym and café.
Laundry services and chef-prepared meals mean that Libertine Lindenberg retains much of the expected hotel offer, while quirky amenities such as the option to hire a Vespa or camper van will appeal to more adventurous guests who want to use the site as a base to explore the surrounding area.
Guests can stay in one of 27 suites, which range from maisonettes to a three-room loft space. The flexible pricing structure also reflects the desire to build a community ethos. While one night is billed at £61 ($89, €79), one month costs £738 ($1,074, €949), the sizeable saving per night designed to attract longer-term visitors.
Projects such as Libertine Lindenberg and Zoku are redefining hospitality for a generation of transient consumers who don’t want to be tied to a long-term lease. See our microtrend The New Commune for more.
