Design Miami/ 2015 Preview: Airbnb

30 : 11 : 2015 Airbnb : Belong. Here. Now. : Design With Company

Design Miami 2015 – Airbnb is invoking the spirit and spectacle of Ancient Greece in its installation for this year’s design fair.

  • Belong. Here. Now. is designed to provide a sense of playful comfort to visitors
  • The project aims to build a sense of community in the short space of the fair’s run

Created in collaboration with agency Design With Company, Belong. Here. Now. invites visitors to take refuge from the crowds among the pillars and arches of its modern-day Parthenon.

Throughout the week the space will host an ever-changing roster of acts, from performance art to music, illustration and photography, using the unique structure to their creative advantage.

‘The different shapes begin as simple divisions, creating areas of engagement and are transformed for access, opening up to welcome guests in,’ says Airbnb. The concept was born out of the company’s famous motto ‘Belong Anywhere’, which aims to create moments of shared joy between host and visitor.

The Big Picture

Brands are tapping into the uplifting spirit of Conviviality Culture, using their own spaces to help people create new connections. For more on Design Miami/ 2015, check out our show preview and look out for our live coverage throughout next week.
