London – Cyclewear brand Rapha has been inspired by the world of performance data analytics for its latest range of racewear.
Rapha’s Pro-Team range of lightweight, high-stretch jerseys – launched to celebrate signing Team Sky rider Peter Kennaugh – uses data analytics as a key design feature.
The pattern of precisely scaled chevrons featured as the main motif were created using race data from a Team Sky rider over a three-week grand tour. The design, developed in collaboration with studio Accept & Proceed, is a record of the rider’s distance, elevation gained and effort – the fine margins which mean the difference between competing and finishing in the peloton.
