London – For the duration of the London Design Festival, Danish furniture manufacturer HAY and co-brand Wrong for HAY transformed the main area of their showroom into a temporary café and restaurant.

The exhibit, Design and Dine, focused on highlighting the brand’s products, including lighting, textiles, furniture and accessories, in a public space rather than in a traditional exhibition format. The food events were guest-curated by Helsinki-based chef Antto Melasniemi, who brought in elements of Nordic foraging to create a contemporary Finnish menu.

To create the unique space of the restaurant, HAY invited Benjamin Kempton and Melina Keays, interior stylists working with Wallpaper* magazine. ‘We combined eclecticism with bold colours, textures and shapes, suggesting new ways of using the HAY and Wrong for
HAY designs,’ said Kempton and Keays in a statement. The Georgian backdrop of the interior was juxtaposed against dynamic geometrical patterns harking back to modernism.
